SEOUL, Oct. 20 (Yonhap) -- Singer-songwriter EJAE, who gained global attention for "Golden," the theme song of Netflix's animated film "KPop Demon Hunters," has married producer and composer Sam Kim, whose Korean name is Samuel Kim.
According to U.S. fashion magazine Vogue on Sunday (local time), EJAE and Sam Kim held an outdoor wedding ceremony at Stage 28 in Godeok-dong, eastern Seoul, on Saturday.
The couple had originally planned to hold their wedding in California next month, but changed the venue to South Korea and moved the ceremony forward by about a month.
They had put wedding preparations on hold for a while due to promotional activities and award ceremonies following the success of "KPop Demon Hunters." After four months of preparations, they tied the knot.
Stage 28, the venue for the wedding, is located on the former home site of EJAE's maternal grandfather, veteran actor Shin Young-kyun. The site holds childhood memories for EJAE and has a special connection to her family.
"It was hectic and stressful, but everything fell perfectly into place," EJAE said in an interview with Vogue about preparing for the wedding.
EJAE and Sam Kim first met during a session for a music project in 2017. They went on to develop a relationship as colleagues and romantic partners and got engaged in June last year.
EJAE is a former trainee at SM Entertainment and has worked on various K-pop songs, including Red Velvet's "Psycho" and aespa's "Drama."
"Golden," a global hit song to which EJAE contributed as a lyricist, composer and vocalist, won Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 68th Grammy Awards.
