BUSAN, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) -- Busan will host the "2026 Busan Craft Beer Masters Challenge" from Oct. 16-18 around the landmark site at Busan North Port, the city government said Wednesday.
The festival will feature a variety of programs, including an opening ceremony, a craft beer competition, pop-up stores, a food zone and flea market for small business owners, experience booths and performances, at North Port, highlighting the city's identity as a maritime city.
In the Busan Craft Beer Competition, winning breweries will be selected based on evaluations by citizens and experts, as well as on-site sales. A panel of "Viking Judges," made up of members of the general public, and three experts in beer and gastronomy will take part in the judging during the festival. Sales recorded at the venue will also be taken into account, with the winner to be announced and presented with a "Winner Certificate" on Oct. 18, the final day of the event.
A pop-up store featuring eight Busan-based craft breweries will be set up, along with other events showcasing a variety of products from local small businesses.
Fifteen businesses each will participate in the small business food zone and flea market. Experience booths will offer activities including making miniature craft beer glasses and taking photos at an artificial intelligence-powered photo studio.
A "picnic mat zone" will also be set up in the center of the venue for families.
On the opening day, YouTuber "Youth Desk" will perform, followed by singer "Cyber Burger" on Oct. 17. On the final day, Oct. 18, cheerleaders from the Lotte Giants will give a performance, followed by a set by DJ Subin.
