SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Yonhap) -- Musinsa Standard said Tuesday it has opened its second store in Seoul's central Myeongdong shopping district, aiming to strengthen its appeal to foreign customers.
The Musinsa Standard Myeongdong Central store is located on Myeongdong 8-gil near Myeongdong Station. The four-story store spans about 500 pyeong (1,650 square meters) and sells men's and women's fashion, household goods and cosmetics under one roof.
The store is also debuting the "Musinsa Standard Custom Service," which allows customers to create their own T-shirts using visual elements inspired by Seoul and Korea.
Customers can choose from designs featuring Seoul's city brand "Seoul, My Soul" and its signature character "Soul Friends," K-souvenir graphics inspired by the traditional Korean folk painting "Hojakdo," and graphics from Korean designer brands Slowcoaster and Lake Studio.
The store will also be the first offline location to showcase Musinsa Standard's fall-winter (FW) campaign, "Seoul, Standard."
To mark the opening, the retailer will offer a limited-edition "Super Bag" containing products worth 300,000 won for 49,900 won through Sept. 9. Daily special offers and prize drawings will also be held through Sept. 13.
"Having confirmed strong demand from foreign customers at our existing Myeongdong store, we opened a second location in the same commercial district to expand our business base in Myeongdong and strategically strengthen our connection with global customers," a Musinsa Standard official said. "We will continue to enhance our brand competitiveness so that we can establish ourselves as a K-fashion brand that visitors to Korea feel they must experience in Seoul."
