SEOUL, Aug. 23 (Yonhap) -- The Cultural Heritage Administration’s Palaces and Tombs Division, in collaboration with the National Heritage Foundation, announced on the 23rd that the Changgyeonggung "Night Banquet (Yayeon)" will take place from September 12 to 18 at the Myeongjeongjeon Hall of Changgyeonggung Palace.
This event revives a traditional royal banquet, historically organized and hosted by the crown prince to express respect and filial piety toward the king.
Coinciding with the Chuseok holiday, the event offers a unique opportunity for families, with one parent dressing in traditional royal attire and participating in the banquet as a high-ranking official or the official’s spouse. Attendees can enjoy royal court refreshments and take commemorative photos while experiencing a reenactment of a royal feast.
Tickets for the Changgyeonggung Night Banquet can be purchased through Ticketlink starting at 2 p.m. on the 26th. Seniors aged 65 and above, people with disabilities, and national merit honorees can also book tickets by phone at ☎ 1588-7890.
