Partnering with Disney to Promote National Heritage: Artist Heukyosok Appointed as Ambassador

SEOUL, June 7 (Yonhap) -- In an effort to widely promote the value and beauty of national heritage (formerly known as cultural properties), various contents and products featuring 'K-Heritage' will be introduced. 

 

The National Heritage Administration announced on the 7th that it would sign a business partnership agreement with Walt Disney Company Korea to promote national heritage at the Gajeongdang Hall of Changdeokgung Palace in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

 

The two organizations plan to use Walt Disney's diverse content to promote Korea's heritage. To enhance international understanding and awareness of national heritage, they will engage in various promotional activities and plan to showcase content and products featuring 'K-Heritage.' Through collaboration with Walt Disney Company Korea, which has a global fandom, they aim to revitalize related industries such as tourism and entertainment using national heritage.

Additionally, the National Heritage Administration has appointed South Korean painter Una Young as a national heritage ambassador. Known by her pen name 'Heukyosok,' Una Young will create illustrations for various products and exhibitions developed by the National Heritage Administration and Walt Disney Company Korea. The specific projects will be finalized through a working group to be formed in the future.

 

A representative from the National Heritage Administration stated, "We will engage in various collaborative projects to ensure that the use of national heritage in the global cultural industry serves as an excellent business model and meaningful precedent that transcends borders."
