Busan promotes Visit Busan Pass with Jack Hsu, BTOB’s Seo Eun-kwang and Peniel

SEOUL, Apr. 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean boy band BTOB and Taiwanese singer-cum-actor Jack Hsu had a tour around major tourist attractions in Busan to produce a promotional video for the foreigners-only tour pass “Visit Busan Pass.”

The Busan Metropolitan Government and the Busan Tourism Organization have joined hands with BTOB’s main vocalist Seo Eun-kwang and rapper Peniel Shin as well as Jack Hsu to produce and release a video, titled “Idol Tour - Global Friends Season 2,” during which BTOB’s two members will serve as personal tour guides for the Taiwanese artist.

The video is scheduled to be available for international viewing on the official YouTube channel of 1theK Originals on Thursday and next Thursday with Chinese subtitles.

This video has been produced with the aim of actively promoting Busan tourism ahead of the re-launch of direct flights between Busan and China in May. Korean airlines have been gearing up to increase the number of flights to China with the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions.

The video will feature the three artists enjoying wheat noodles and seafood, which are reckoned representative dishes of this port city, and playing Korean folk games such as Jegichagi while visiting Busan’s major tourist attractions, including Gamcheon Culture Village, by using the Visit Busan Pass.

This foreigner-only tour pass allows international travelers to visit attractions for free, as well as act as a transportation card on public transportation. Users can also enjoy discounts at nearby food and beverage franchises. The city of Busan recently showcased two types of time-limited tour passes: 24-hour and 48-hour.

After completing a test operation in February, this exclusive tour pass has been garnering international attention among travelers, raking in over 7,000 copies so far.
