"Samwolen Yeogiro (‘Must-go in March’)" is a day-trip train travel program jointly conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Tourism Organization, and Korail Tourism Development. It provides an opportunity for 1,700 people to enjoy day-trip train travels to 21 small cities nationwide for just 30,000 won each.
Applications are received through the
"Travel Month" website, and participants are selected through a 100%
lottery system. It requires some luck, but if selected, it's a jackpot. For
each participant, round-trip train tickets, meals, admission fees to tourist
attractions, and experience fees are all provided for just 30,000 won.
The 3rd event of "March Here" can be applied for on the "Travel Month" website at korean.visitkorea.or.kr/travelmonth until the 17th. Winners will visit Hadong, Gurye, and Boseong on the 29th, and Taebaek, Samcheok, and Goseong on the 30th. The second round of the same program will be held in June.
About 90,000 people have applied for
the 1,700 slots, officials said, expecting about 100,000 applications by the
end of this month.
