SEOUL, August 4 (Yonhap) --The Wald Ensemble, made up of young Korean musicians from major orchestras in Europe, will be holding a regular concert at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall on August 17 to mark its 7th anniversary.
Following Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 1, Benjamin Britten's Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge, and Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition, with the arrangement for string orchestra by Jacques Cohen will be played.
The Ward Ensemble is an orchestra composed of 31 musicians including violin, cello, viola, and double bass, with music director Lee Ji-hye (violin), from the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Germany. The name "Wald" means "forest" in German.
Ahead of the concert at the Seoul Arts Center, the Ward Ensemble will be holding a concert at the Tongyong International Music Foundation Hall on August 12.
