SEOUL, June 18 (Yonhap) -- Director Hirokazu Kore-eda's latest family-themed drama "Broker" has surpassed 1 million viewers.

According to the distributor CJ ENM on Saturday, "Broker" recorded 1,017,000 cumulative audiences on June 18 at 8:30 a.m., becoming the first Kore-eda’s film released in Korea to attract 1 million viewers.

As of the previous day, “Broker” ranked No. 3 on the daily box office following the movies “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One" and "The Roundup."

"Broker," starring Song Kang-ho, Gang Dong-won, and Lee Ji-eun, is about people on a road trip searching for possible adoptive parents of a newborn left at a baby box.

Song Kang-ho played a broker Sang-hyeon and won the Best Actor prize through this movie at this year's Cannes last month.
