SEOUL, July 21 (Yonhap) -- South Korean video game holding company Krafton has appointed Hollywood film producer Adi Shankar as the executive creative producer for its Battleground game based animation project.
Krafton introduced Adi Shankar as a film producer who has worked on various Hollywood blockbusters for more than a decade, including "The Grey," "Dredd," and "Lone Survivor." Shankar is also known for being the youngest producer to have a No.1 film within the American box office with "The Grey," and recently directed the production of Netflix's original series "Castlevania."
Shankar also expressed his excitement on the project, saying, "Since the launch of 'Battleground' in 2017, I have enjoyed playing on the so-called 'battleground' as a gamer myself. I'm very excited to join this journey."
"We expect this collaboration to serve as a bridge between the game industry and Hollywood," Shankar added. "We will show you what the real 'chicken dinner' is like after winning a game in 'Playerunknown's Battlegrounds,' so please look forward to this project."
