Seoul, May 21 (Yonhap) -- American super pop star Lady Gaga (35) shed tears over the sexual assault she suffered when she was 19.

The Grammy award-winning singer made the remarks on the U.S. mental health documentary program "The Me You Can't See," a new docuseries co-created by Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey, CNN reported on the 21st (local time).

She said she was sexually assaulted and became pregnant by a music producer 16 years ago, and was diagnosed with PTSD at a hospital after suffering from mental distress.

"I was 19 years old, and I was working in the business, and a producer said to me, 'Take your clothes off,'" she recalled. "And I said no. And I left, and they told me they were going to burn all my music. And they didn't stop. They didn't stop asking me, and then I just froze and I just ... I don't even remember."

"First, I felt full-on pain, then I went numb. Then I was sick for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks after," she explained. "And I realized it was the same pain I felt when the person who raped me dropped me off pregnant on the corner, at my parents' house, because I was vomiting, and sick. Because I'd been being abused, I was locked away in a studio for months."

"Everybody thinks it’s gotta be a straight line, that it’s like every other virus, that you get sick and then you get cured. It’s not like that. It’s just not like that. And actually, I think that traps people," said she.
