SEOUL, Apr. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korean-based leading cinema chain Lotte Cinema is set to hold a special event for the Japanese director Makoto Shinkai, who took the helm of the mega-hit animated blockbuster “Suzume” that recently became the most-watched Japanese film in South Korea.
From Thursday to next Tuesday (April 25), a total of 31 theaters will re-screen the director’s three iconic films, including “Your Name.,” “Weathering with You,” and “5 Centimeters per Second.”
Several theaters, including those in Lotte World Tower, Konkuk University Entrance, Centum City, and Suwon, will be re-screening these three hit animes on the largest LED screens in Korea.
Lotte Cinema is also expected to provide audiences with diverse exclusive merchandise featuring characters from his works.
