SEOUL October 28 (Yonhap) -- Maengbang Beach, greatly known as the filming location of K-pop super star BTS’ Butter photo shoot has been re-enforced with robust material, addressed Samcheok city government on Friday.
The photo zone known was originally reconstructed by the Samcheok city government on July of 2021, following the concept of BTS’ butter using beach parasols, place for beach volleyball, surfing boards, sunbeds and more.
However, materials used to reconstruct the scene at the first place were rough to take care of and susceptible due to long exposure to the wind and the sand.
Therefore Samcheok city government invested over 50 million won to replace props such as 9 of the parasols and 11 of the sunbeds with stainless steel frames which is more solid and acceptable to the environment.

Maengbang Beach which is known for BTS’ photo zone is continuously attracting visitors.
“We plan to support and carry on with reinforcement of surrounding areas, use the BTS photo zone as one of the main promotional piece within their tourism industry.” addressed official from Samcheok city government.
