SEOUL, October 16 (Yonhap) -- The special route of the Changwon City Tour Bus headed to "Wooyoung-woo hackberry tree" will be extended until the end of November, Gyeongnam Changwon City announced on October 16.

Changwon City originally planned to operate the special route from last September to October 16, but decided to extend the operation in response to tourists' response.

The Changwon City Tour Bus allows visitors to enjoy the Wooyoungwoo Hackberry tree without worrying about parking.

The Changwon City Tour single-decker bus runs once every day to the Wooyoungwoo Hackberry tree , except for Mondays.

Tourists take the bus at the Changwon Sports Park Meeting Plaza at 9:30 am, get off at Dongbu Village, admire the hackberry and other villages, and then return around noon.

Changwon City allows 40 first-comers, first-served basis per session. However, reservations must be made for at least 8 people for the bus to run.

The Wooyoungwoo Hackberry tree located in the eastern village of Bukbu-ro, Daesan-myeon, Uichang-gu,, is estimated to be over 500 years old.

It was designated as a natural monument on October 7 in recognition of its academic and historical value as well as its unique scenic value that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.
