SEOUL,
Jan. 6 (Yonhap) --
According to ratings tracker Nielsen Korea on Tuesday, the first episode of tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday series “Spring Fever,” aired the previous day, recorded a nationwide rating of 4.8 percent.
The premiere depicted the fateful first meeting between Yoon Bom (Lee Joo-bin), a high school teacher newly transferred to a rural school, and Sun Jae-gyu (Ahn Bo-hyun), a hot-blooded country man devoted to one-sided love.
Jae-gyu, who is fiercely protective of his nephew Sun Han-gyeol (Jo Jun-young), storms into the school after hearing that Han-gyeol failed to win a filial piety award, startling Yoon Bom with his rough first impression.
However, Jae-gyu reveals an unexpected charm by scolding the principal for ordering Yoon Bom to run coffee errands, while the episode also hints that the two leads had met before in the past.
“Spring Fever” drew attention with Ahn’s comedic use of a regional dialect — reflecting his real-life Busan roots — and his portrayal of a tough yet warm-hearted character.
In upcoming episodes, the drama is set to delve into the pair’s hidden backstories and further develop their romance against the backdrop of a rural village.
