Traditional games and movies to be available in Seoul parks for Chuseok holiday

SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Yonhap) -- How about playing traditional games at Seoul Park and watching movie near the lake during Chuseok holliday?

According to Seoul city on Thursday, Special programs for families to enjoy will be taking place in World Cup park, Seonyudo park, and Oil Tank Culture Park during Chuseok holiday, a major mid-autumn harvest festival and a three-day holiday in S.Korea.

Folk games and Hangawi making will be prepared at Peace Park, World Cup Park on Sept. 10 - Sep.t 11 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Traditional games such as Yunnori, Throwing tuho, Jegichagi, and top-spinning are available and traditional props such as Hanji Somang, Ol rice bag, and disk top can be made.

An event to watch Hangawi full moon, Saturn, Jupital, and constellation using night astronomical telescope with astronomical instrutor will also be prepared.

Traditional games such as Jegichagi, and throwing tuho will be open at Seonyudo park on Sept. 10 to Sept.12.

Events like experiencing circus, street art x circus display, circus movie by Seoul culture center are prepared at Oil Tank Culture park from Sept. 9 - Sept. 12.

Majority of the Chuseok programs held in Seoul parks can be enjoyed by anyone at the scene but some are first come first serve. Detailed information can be found at Seoul Park Website (parks.seoul.go.kr).

5th lake movie festival will be held at Lake square, Seoul Grand park from Sept.11 to Sept.12

It plays movies voted by citizens on LED screen for audiences to watch near the lake.

Four movies voted by 13,000 citizens are prepared for this event which is held in two years as social distancing ended.

"Mamma Mia! 2" and "Les Miserables" will be played on Sept.11, and "Little Forest" and "Secret" on Sept. 12.

Campaign programs "OST concert" and "Zero Waste" (reducing disposable cup) will be taking place before the movie.
