SEOUL November 09 (Yonhap) -- Cheorwon County located within Gangwon province addressed on Wednesday that all tourism held within the boundary of Civilian Control Zone including “DMZ peace tourism” and more will be restricted until November 14.

Due to the repeated provocation by North Korea, starting on November 2, Cheorwon county closed down all of the tourism held within the Civilian Control Zone, despite of their effort to re-open the program, it is uncertain when they will be able to resume the tourism therefore, Cheorwon County decided to refund all of the tickets and canceled all of the reservation.

Therefore the availability of the DMZ Red Crowned Crane observation tour remains uncertain.

Cheorwon County government will negotiate with the South Korean military and release a statement regarding the availability of the tourism after November 14.

Director of Tourism Planning division addressed “Some of the main attractions located within Cheorwon, such as “mono rail of Soisan Mountain,” “Hantangang river Jusangjeolli” and more, and we are checking the safety of the attraction very frequently in case something happens.”
