SEOUL, April. 21 (Yonhap) -- Singer Younha has been selected as a "celebrity who loves Korean," agency C9 Entertainment said on Friday.
At the 40th anniversary of the KBS Korean Language Research Association held at KBS Viewers Square in Seoul earlier in the day, Younha has been selected as a "celebrity who loves Korean" and received a plaque of appreciation.
Younha has enjoyed great popularity last year, climbing the charts with "Event Horizon." The lyrics of this song are only in Korean.
Younha said, "I think Korean is the only thing that can touch the hearts of the people in our country deeply," adding, "I think the shape is very pretty when I write down the finished lyrics in Korean."
"I'm also studying while writing lyrics, but there are still many Korean words that I don't know," she said. "Every time that happens, I think I have to continue to study." I will continue to do my best to make music while looking at this appreciation plaque," she said.
