SEOUL, January 2 (Yonhap) -- Gochang-eupseong Fortress will be opened free of charge for one year this year to mark the Year of Visit Gochang, a World Heritage City, according to Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do, on Monday. 

 
It is free entrance for Gochang-gun residents as before, and paid visitors will be refunded in full with a Gochang Sarang voucher, which can be used to pay in Gocahng, for their admission fee.
 
The entrance fee is 3,000 KRW for adults and 2,000 KRW for teenagers.
 
Gochang-eupseong Fortress, built to prevent foreign invasion during the Joseon Dynasty, is one of the representative tourist attractions in the region.
 
An official from Gochang-gun said, "The Gochang-eupseong Fortress, designated as Historic Site No. 145, is very valuable," adding, "I hope visitors can fully feel the history of the cultural heritage and the natural environment."
