SEOUL, Mar. 26 (Yonhap) – Group of Witchu Vejjajiva Thai ambassador to Korea has visited North Gyeongsang Province from the 21st to the 25th and discussed ways to revitalize tourism between North Gyeongsang Province and Thailand.

 

According to Gyeongsangbuk-do Culture & Tourism Organization on Sunday, Ambassador Witchu and his group have visited the corporation on the 21st and talked with president Kim Sung-jo.

 

The organization introduced the contents of four major tourist cities, including Gyeongju and Mungyeong, to the ambassador’s group and announced the charm of North Gyeongsang Province and the excellence of historical and cultural resources.

 

It also asked to promote North Gyeongsang Province so that the 32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to be held in 2025 can be held in Gyeongju.

 

Ambassador Witchu said, "North Gyeongsang Province is an attractive tourist destination with historical cultural properties and a natural environment," adding, "We will actively spread North Gyeongsang Province’s strengths and excellence throughout Thailand."

 

Starting with a visit to Gyeongju on the 21st, the ambassador's group visited tourism resources in Andong, Gyeongju, and Pohang for five days and visited related agencies in each city.

 

Meanwhile, Korea and Thailand marked the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year.
