SEOUL, Jan. 16 (Yonhap) - Iksan City, North Jeolla Province, is to recreate Mireuksa Temple Site, a world heritage site, in a virtual reality space to preoccupy metaverse historical and cultural tourist attractions.
The city announced that it will complete the construction of the Mireuka Temple site metaverse content on Naver Z’s metaverse platform "Zepeto" and test-run it from this month to March, on Monday.
“Metaverse Iksan Mireuksa Temple Site” is a virtual reality embodiment of Mireuksa Temple, known as the largest temple in Baekje, and the National Treasure reliquary found in the stone pagoda of Mireuksa Temple Site.
It consists of a variety of interactive contents so that the new generation, who are familiar with new experiences and communication based on digital and online, can feel familiar with Mireuksa Temple Site.
In particular, the city explained that visitors to the "Metaverse Iksan Mireuksaji" can be very attracted to the performance compensation for mission resolution, freedom in virtual space, and interaction between visitors.
If the visitor acquire information about Mireuksa Temple Site on the metaverse and reach Geumdangji Temple Site in Jungwon after all the missions are completed, visitors will meet the imaginary Maitreya Buddha Triad and receive clouds that can be used within Mireuksaji World.
Visitors can experience various actions that cannot be performed at the real Mireuksa Temple Site in a virtual space, such as climbing on the stone pagoda of Mireuksa Temple Site and dancing and taking pictures in various poses.
The city also added that it differentiated itself into two-way virtual reality cultural property content by sharing photos and videos taken by visitors on the Zepeto platform and inviting friends.
Starting in April, when the service begins in earnest, the city is to hold an event through a mini-game building a wooden tower and event for actual visits to Mireuksa Temple Site after experiencing the “Metaverse Iksan Mireuksaji.”
