SEOUL, Feb. 8 (Yonhap) - Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, has recently become popular as it frequently appears in broadcasting programs and famous YouTube contents.

                        

According to Pohang City on Wednesday, MBC Every1's entertainment program “Welcome. Is it your first time in Korea?” aired Pohang tourist attractions such as Jukdo Market, Naeyeonsan Mountain Bogyungsa Temple, and Homigot last month.

 

In the program, which shows how foreigners who visit Korea for the first time enjoy their travel destinations, Italian star chefs showed them enjoying Pohang seafood such as snow crab, abalone, and sea cucumber or experiencing Pohang culture such as haenyeo.

 

Prior to this, KBS1 urban travel documentary 'Lee Man-Gi’s Neighborhood' hAS also visited Pohang early this year.

 

The host, Lee Man-Gi, met his mother-in-law living in Pohang, visited the nation's largest experiential sculpture Spacewalk, the Keun Donghae Market, and met the family of Guryongpo Haenyeo.

 

KBS entertainment program "Let's Live Together with Park Won Sook" has also been filming in Pohang recently, promoting coastal scenery such as Damupo Whale Village and cold raw fish soup, snow crab.

 

KBS2 entertainment program "1 Night 2 Days" introduced famous places such as Spacewalk and Gonryunsan Mountain in Pohang in November last year.

 

In addition, YouTuber Ssoyoung, who has more than 9 million subscribers, has visited Pohang in November last year, toured tourist attractions such as Yeongildae Beach and Gwamegi Culture Museum, and posted a video of eating snow crabs and octopus deliciously.

Park Sang-jin, head of the city's convention and tourism industry division, explained, "Various variety shows and dramas are very helpful in promoting Pohang's natural scenery and specialities."
