'Hard Hit' exceeds 500,000 viewers in 10 days

SEOUL, July 2 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean action film "Hard Hit," starring actor Cho Woo-jin, topped the list of Korean films released this year, surpassing 500,000 viewers in just 10 days after its release.

 

"Hard Hit" has maintained its No. 1 spot on the daily box office since its release on June 23, according to the data by the Korean Film Council on Friday.

Earlier today, the film became the box office hit of the year, after surpassing "Mission: Possible" which had 447,000 views.

The newly released thriller movie "Midnight," starring actress Jin Ki-joo, started off as No.3 in rankings after attracting 20,000 viewers on the first day of its release, however dropped to fourth place on the second day.

The musical film "In the Heights," which was released on the same day as "Midnight," ranked sixth place with 14,000 audiences while maintaining the same ranking the next day.

The real-time movie reservation rate during the morning of July 2 was 47% for "Black Widow," which is set to be released on the 7th.

Disney's live-action film "Cruella" recorded 9.1 percent in reservation rates while "Hard Hit" and "Midnight" had 8.1 percent and 6.7 percent respectively.
