We’ve seen North Korean leader Kim Jong-un hold summits with the leaders of South Korea, the U.S., China, and Russia. Could 2021 be the year we see Kim meet with the leader of the major nation that’s been left off that list so far – Japan? Certainly, there are reasons to think we might see a breakthrough in 2021. Tokyo has the willingness, Pyongyang is facing an economic crisis, and the Tokyo Olympics could bring some key diplomats together.
