2022 will bring changes to inter-Korean ties, but will they be for better or worse?

Where will 2022 take inter-Korean relations? Dialogue and cooperation efforts have remained stalled since 2019, while a new U.S. government’s failed to make headway with Pyongyang and the pandemic’s isolated North Korea more than ever. Yet, South Korean President Moon Jae-in is still hoping to achieve progress before he leaves office. With Moon expected to make a final push for peace, and then a leadership change on the way in the South, we could be set for some big changes in the coming year.
