Funeral for comfort woman victim

A funeral procession carries a portrait of Lee Ok-seon, a victim of Japan's wartime sexual slavery, euphemistically called "comfort women," at a funeral hall in Yongin, south of Seoul, on May 14, 2025. Lee died on May 11 at the age of 97 after her health deteriorated. Her death reduced to six the number of registered surviving Korean victims who were forced to work in the Japanese military's wartime brothels. (Yonhap)
