Making Korean rice cakes ahead of holiday
A man lays out "garaetteok," a Korean rice cake stick, just churned out of a rice cake machine at a traditional market in Incheon, west of Seoul, on Jan. 23, 2025, ahead of the Lunar New Year, which falls on Jan. 29 this year. Garaetteok is a staple used to make a traditional soup of sliced rice cake eaten during the holiday. (Yonhap)
