Sacred winemaking for Gangneung Dano Festival

A shaman performs as ritual operators, some of whom have slips of paper in their mouths as protection against bad luck, engage in brewing "sinju," or sacred wine, which will be used for traditional rites of the Gangneung Dano Festival, at the former government office Chilsadang in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, northeastern South Korea, on May 2, 2025.
