Constitutional Court asks Yoon to give written answers in impeachment trial
By Lee Haye-ah
SEOUL, Dec. 17 (Yonhap) -- The Constitutional Court has asked President Yoon Suk Yeol to give written answers regarding his impeachment trial by next week, a court justice said Tuesday.
Kim Hyung-du, one of the six justices currently on the bench, told reporters on his way to work that a notification was sent to Yoon on Monday morning informing him of the court's receipt of the National Assembly's impeachment resolution against him.
"The notification contains a phrase requesting the submission of written answers" by next Monday, he said.
The answers will be used together with the parliamentary resolution as the starting point of deliberations on whether to uphold or reject Yoon's impeachment over his failed martial law imposition on Dec. 3.
