S. Korea's first transgender soldier found dead at home

South Korea's first transgender soldier Byun Hee-soo, who was forcibly discharged from the Army last year, was found dead at her house Wednesday.
According to police, a mental health counselor in her hometown in Cheongju, south of Seoul, called emergency services after Byun had been out of contact since Feb. 28.
The counselor said Byun had made an attempt at suicide three months ago and was hospitalized to receive psychiatric treatment.
