The lonely deaths driving South Korea’s real-life ‘trauma cleaning’ industry

Another Korean Netflix hit has been raising awareness of a very difficult job. Season One of Move to Heaven was released last year, having been inspired by an essay written by a real-life ‘trauma cleaner’. Apparently in recent years, dozens of companies have started up in South Korea to offer this very important, but also rather grisly service. And it’s an industry that’s sadly in even greater demand due to an increase in so-called ‘lonely deaths’ of people who passed away on their own.
