Korean webtoon ‘Hero Killer’ to be adapted into French animation

SEOUL, Oct. 2 (Yonhap) -- Korean webtoon “Hero Killer” will be adapted into an animated series in France, its producer Jaedam Media said Thursday.

The company announced it has signed a deal with ADN, a French animation studio and streaming platform, to produce the animated version of the popular title.

“Hero Killer,” currently serialized on Naver Webtoon, follows protagonist Lee Hwa, who becomes a killer seeking revenge against the hero who murdered her sister, hunting down superheroes night after night. As of Tuesday, the series ranked 23rd in the academy and action genre category.

ADN is both a distributor and producer of animated content across France and other European countries.

Jaedam Media CEO Hwang Nam-yong said the deal marks an important step in showcasing the global competitiveness of K-webtoons through animation. “We will continue to expand the global influence of Korean webtoons by partnering with diverse platforms and studios,” he said.
