SEOUL, Sep. 30 (Yonhap) -- “No Time to Die,” spy action blockbuster, has started off as Box Office No. 1 with over 100,000 audiences on its first day of release.
The blockbuster, released first in Korea on 3 p.m. Wednesday, attracted 104,000 viewers (61.7% of total sale) in one day, according to KOFIC (Korean Film Council) KOBIS (KOREA Box-office Information System).
The figure was a record in 7 hours in the capital area where the movies are closed at 10 p.m. due to social distancing. As the running time was long, 2 hours and 43 minutes, the film was screened only 2 times maximum per screen on Wed.
The recent film is the 25th episode of 007 series and is the last work Daniel Craig, who has played as James Bond starting from “Casino Royal” in 2006, appears in. “No Time to Die” is the first film to have used IMAX camera. Also, the film was invested with the most production cost, 250 million dollars (about 296 billion won).
The film is marking 95,000 booked audiences and 69.8% of real-time booking at 9 a.m. Thursday.
