SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Yonhap) -- Music startup company Space Oddity's K-pop fandom platform, Blip, announced on Thursday that it will openly recruit K-pop fans around the world for a new event titled "Hangeul Lyrics of My Life."
Anyone who wants to participate are expected to post a verse with Korean lyrics of a K-pop song and a story related to it on the Blip website.
The most common lyrics submitted by participants will be made into a visual work by the Korean Society of Typography and will be presented as an online exhibition in December. A Metaverse exhibition will also be held at the Seoul Design Festival.
The contest was designed in time for Hangeul Day, also known as the Korean Alphabet Day is held in October, as well as to check which Korean lyrics are most meaningful to K-pop fans.
"The rapid growth of K-pop has greatly contributed to raising interest in Hangeul," Space Oddity said. "The contest for "Hangeul Lyrics in My Life" is an opportunity to find out how the charm of Hangeul is conveyed through K-pop."
