SEOUL,
Aug. 21 (Yonhap) --
The pop-ups have been held in Shenzhen, Wuhan, Chengdu and Beijing starting in Shanghai on Aug. 2.
The Shanghai pop-up, the largest of the five, required advance reservations of up to 1,500 people per day in anticipation of large crowds, but additional visitors still lined up at the site, the agency said.
"Even during weekday hours, a wide range of fans including students have been visiting," YG said. "At the Wuhan and Chengdu pop-ups, where reservations were not required, lines stretched outside the venues."
The pop-ups feature BLACKPINK merchandise such as light sticks, character key rings, portable fans, hats, T-shirts and albums. Some items sold out early, leading to additional production and reservation sales.
Visitors can also enjoy photo zones and a large message wall where they can leave handwritten notes for the members. The pop-up stores in each city will run through Aug. 31.

On Aug. 8, marking the group’s ninth debut anniversary, the LED screen of the Ferris wheel atop Joy City, a landmark in Shanghai, was lit up with the team’s logo and a pink glow.
"By expanding activities of BLACKPINK, TREASURE and other artists in China, we are creating more opportunities to meet local fans," YG said, adding that a BABYMONSTER pop-up store will also open later this month along with other events.
