SEOUL, July 10 (Yonhap) -- Netflix is set to unveil the action thriller series "Trigger" later this month, depicting a fictional South Korea rocked by the sudden influx of illegal firearms.
The streaming giant announced Wednesday that "Trigger," starring Kim Nam-gil and Kim Young-kwang, will be released on July 25.
Set in a world where safety mechanisms have collapsed, "Trigger" explores the hidden impulses that drive people to violence in chaotic times.
In the newly released trailer, mysterious firearms are seen being delivered across South Korea, sparking a wave of shootings. Packages containing guns are discreetly shipped to those who desire them, often involving large sums of money.
Kim Nam-gil plays police officer Lee Do, who crosses paths with the enigmatic Moon Baek, portrayed by Kim Young-kwang, as the two pursue the truth behind the unfolding mayhem.
"Trigger" is produced by production company Bidangil and directed by Kwon Oh-seung and Kim Jae-hoon.
