SEOUL, August 27 (Yonhap) — There are 32 bridges that cross han river, lifeline of Seoul and Gyeonggi province. 28 are large bridges and 4 railroad bridges. The oldest bridge is Han river railroad, which was built for exclusive railroad transportation in 1900. In 1917, first foot bridge, Han river foot bridge opens. This bridge, now called Han river bridge, formed into a large bridge for cars through expansion construction and reconstruction in 1937. The youngest bridge is olympic bridge, opening in 1937. Some bridges were destroyed either during the war or due to poor construction. We have gathered the change of Han river bridges over a century.
