SEOUL, Aug. 18 (Yonhap) -- Web drama “The Driver” (translated title) has cast actors Ahn Jae-wook, Lee Tae-ran and Ahn Gil-kang, including Kim Seung-woo, according to Kim’s management agency The Queen AMC Wednesday.
The drama depicts the story of a designated driver after being laid off.
Ahn Jae-wook will play as the designated driver, dubbed Ha Tae-jun, Lee as dubbed Mi-sun, Tae-jun’s bright and supporting wife and Ah Gil-kang as Tae-jun’s colleague dubbed Ho-chul.
The cast also includes, Lee Jae-ryong, Kang Nam-gil, Oh Man-seok, Lee Jong-hyuk, Yoon Hyun-min, Oh Ha-young, Lee Tae-sung, Koh Soo-hee, Hong Suk-chun, Lee Gun-myoung and Lee Su-geun who will take part in separate 12 episodes.
Kim said that he planned to take part in the series to open up a new genre, human drama, to the short-form drama scene which is full of youth-romance genres.
“I will do my best to deliver comfort and hope to those going through hard times by depicting various types of people and their emotions from joy to sorrow,” said Kim.
Kim Cheon-seok, director of Netflix original series “Sweet Home” and tvN drama “Encounter,” has joined the production. Singer The One will take part in the drama’s OST (Original Soundtrack).
“The Driver” is set to air in the second half of this year.
