SEOUL, Sept. 24 (Yonhap) -- The original soundtrack (OST) for Netflix’s animated film “K-pop Demon Hunters” is maintaining strong momentum on the U.S. Billboard charts, with eight songs appearing on the latest Hot 100 singles chart.
According to Billboard’s Tuesday update (local time), the OST features “Golden,” which has held the top spot for six consecutive weeks, along with seven other entries. “Soda Pop” and “Your Idol” ranked fifth and sixth, while “How It’s Done” and “What It Sounds Like” came in at 10th and 19th.
“Takedown” and “Free” followed at 24th and 27th, and TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung’s version of “Takedown” landed at 59th.
The eight tracks have now remained on the Hot 100 for 11 straight weeks since their simultaneous debut in July. The OST album itself ranked second on the Billboard 200, down one notch from the previous week.
Other K-pop entries on the Hot 100 include HYBE’s global girl group Cat’s Eye with “Gabriela,” which jumped 12 places to 45th, and “Gnarly,” which re-entered at 97th. TWICE’s “Strategy” placed 61st, while BLACKPINK’s “Jump” ranked 95th.
On the Billboard 200 albums chart, Stray Kids’ “KARMA” stayed for a fourth week at No. 12. Rookie boy band Cortiz debuted at No. 15 with its mini-album “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” — the second-highest debut for a K-pop group’s first album after SuperM’s chart-topping debut in 2019.
Cat’s Eye’s “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS” ranked 30th, while TWICE member Chaeyoung entered at No. 38 with her solo album “Lil Fantasy, Vol.1.” TWICE’s full-length album “THIS IS FOR” placed 132nd.
