Parliament passes 2026 budget bill before deadline

Lawmakers of the ruling and opposition parties pass the government's 2026 budget of 727.9 trillion won (US$498 billion) that calls for more spending to prop up the economy and on national defense during a plenary session at the National Assembly in Seoul on Dec. 2, 2025, just minutes before the legal deadline.
