Lee's aide granted bail in bribery scandal

Kim Yong, a former deputy head of the ruling Democratic Party's think tank and a close aide to President Lee Jae Myung, leaves a prison in Hwaseong, south of Seoul, on Aug. 20, 2025, after the Supreme Court granted bail to the 58-year-old, now on trial over a bribery scandal linked to a development project launched when Lee was the mayor of Seongnam, south of Seoul.
