S. Korea adds 193,000 jobs in 2025

Bin Hyun-joon, chief of the social statistics bureau at the Ministry of Data and Statistics, holds a press conference at the government complex in Sejong, central South Korea, on Jan. 14, 2026, to announce South Korea maintained on-year employment growth at the 100,000 level for the second consecutive year in 2025 as job losses continued in the manufacturing and construction sectors and youth employment remained sluggish, with the number of employed people tallied at 28.77 million.
