New head of parliament's legislation, judiciary committee

Choo Mi-ae, a six-term lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Party, heads to her office at the National Assembly in Seoul on Aug. 6, 2025. The party has picked Choo to lead the parliamentary legislation and judiciary committee to fill in the vacancy left by the departure of her predecessor, Lee Choon-suak. Lee was expelled from the party for triggering public outrage over allegations of stock trading under a borrowed name. (Yonhap)
