Tripitaka Koreana open to public for first time
A visitor looks inside Beopbojeon, one of the four buildings that store the Tripitaka Koreana, in Haein Temple in Hapcheon, South Gyeongsang Province, on June 20, 2021. The temple began allowing the public access to the collection of Buddhist wooden printing blocks every Saturday and Sunday on June 19. Considered the most comprehensive set of Buddhist scriptures found to date, the Tripitaka Koreana, or "Palmandaejanggyeong" in Korean, comprises 13th-century Buddhist scriptures carved on more than 80,000 wooden printing blocks.
