Unification ministry vows to monitor N. Korea, stably manage situation on peninsula after Yoon's ouster
SEOUL, April 4 (Yonhap) -- The unification ministry vowed Friday to monitor any movements by North Korea and stably manage the security situation on the Korean Peninsula after the Constitutional Court's ruling that ousted impeached former President Yoon Suk Yeol from office.
"The ministry will closely monitor North Korea's movements while making every effort to stably manage the situation on the Korean Peninsula," the ministry said following Yoon's ouster over his martial law scheme in early December.
It also vowed efforts to prevent any vacuum in its policies regarding North Korea and unification.
Unification Minister Kim Yung-ho also hosted a meeting of senior officials to discuss future policies, during which he instructed them to unwaveringly adhere to their duties, according to the ministry.
