Trainee doctors' submission of resignations
A notice at the entrance of the emergency room inside Jeju National University Hospital in the city of Jeju on South Korea's largest island of the same name on Feb. 20, 2024, informs people that the ER is being operated in an emergency mode due to the absence of many trainee doctors. A total of 6,415 out of the country's around 13,000 trainee doctors at 100 hospitals have submitted their resignations in protest of a government plan to boost the number of medical students.
