Parliamentary committee issues order to bring ex-defense chief as witness for martial law hearing
SEOUL, Feb. 6 (Yonhap) -- An opposition-led parliamentary committee issued orders Thursday to bring former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun and three others involved in President Yoon Suk Yeol's martial law declaration to appear at the National Assembly as witnesses.
The special committee investigating Yoon's insurrection charges issued the orders after Kim and the three others did not appear at its third hearing though they have been adopted as witnesses.
The others include Yeo In-hyung, former head of the Defense Counterintelligence Command, as well as retired Army Maj. Gen. Noh Sang-won and Maj. Gen. Moon Sang-ho, former commanders of the Defense Intelligence Command.
Kim was indicted on charges of playing a key role in an insurrection amid allegations he proposed declaring martial law to Yoon and ordered military officials to send troops to seal off the National Assembly on Dec. 3.
