SEOUL, Jan 6 (Yonhap) -- K-pop singer AleXa, who showed off a charismatic performance and singing skills with an AI-based metaverse, returned on Jan. 6 with a new single “TATTOO.”

“If I mainly released powerful dance songs, this track will be easier for my fans to listen to,” said the singer in an interview with the Yonhap Agency.

The track expresses the feeling of missing someone stuck like a tattoo in the heart.

Born and raised in the U.S., it has already been four years since the singer debuted in the K-pop industry.

AleXa changed her official logo while preparing for this comeback.

The new logo expresses five letters ‘ALEXA’ in pink and purple colors on a black background. This change emphasized the singer’s concept of ‘AI in Multiverse.’

The music video also focused on showing off the artist’s concept of the ‘first K-pop metaverse.’

AleXa spoke about the difference between her from other artists who have the AI and metaverse concept and said, “No one could easily copy the cinematic music videos and strong performance.”

The singer collaborated with the British gaming company Improbable and hosted a metaverse fan meeting on last year’s November as the first K-pop singer.

AleXa spoke on how she wants to be more acknowledged by the K-pop industry.

“There are different music genres in our world but K-pop has its unique charm. A person who likes creative things and is happy to debut as a K-pop singer - wouldn’t that be me?” said the singer.

"I was supposed to have a world tour in South America and Europe in 2021, but I couldn't because of COVID-19," adding, "I want to go on tour when the situation gets better."
